The Science Behind Our Protein Base

The Primal Substances of Life

Our Protein Base is built around the concept of primal substances: natural components that have accompanied humans since the very beginning of life. By combining native milk and whey protein, lactoferrin, and bifidobacteria, it brings together three of these unique substances in a single formulation. Enhanced with carefully selected amino acids and enzymes, the result is a holistic concept designed to support the body, the gut, and the immune system.

Why these three primal substances are at the core of our product philosophy and how they complement one another is explained in the following sections.

Whey Protein as a High-Quality Protein Source

Clinical studies show that proteins from milk and whey are absorbed by the body better than any other protein. But what is actually the difference between milk protein and whey protein? Both proteins come from the same source - milk - but they work very differently in the body.

Milk protein refers to the total protein content found in milk. It consists of about 80% casein and around 20% whey protein. Due to its high casein content, it is digested more slowly and supplies the body continuously with essential amino acids over several hours. This provides long-lasting satiety and steady support for muscles, connective tissue, and recovery.

When looking at one of the most valuable foods for humans - breast milk - it becomes clear: protein is not just protein. Around 70% of its protein content consists of whey protein. Whey protein is absorbed quickly by the body. Amino acid levels in the blood rise rapidly, which makes whey particularly valuable for fast recovery and targeted muscle building.

We rely on a combination of both in our protein powder to ensure a high-quality, all-round protein supply.

In addition to milk protein, our protein powder contains a specially selected whey protein with a naturally higher phospholipid content. These phospholipids are a functional ingredient, as they have been shown to support the formation of the body’s own cell membranes, as well as the transport of essential nutrients, and to enhance physical performance - not only in sports.

Protein powder with essential amino acids

The added amino acids help address one of the typical issues associated with protein powder consumption. Cow’s milk contains high levels of methionine and leucine - two amino acids that activate growth hormones in the body and thus promote rapid growth in calves, or muscle development in humans. However, in humans this can also often lead to acne triggered by these growth hormones.

Glycine is used by the body to form the enzyme glycine N-methyltransferase, which is responsible for breaking down excess methionine. This helps reduce acne, while at the same time not negatively affecting muscle growth, and has been associated in studies with increased life expectancy.

Glutamine is the most important amino acid when it comes to building the intestinal wall, which forms the body’s first line of immune defense. There is often a lifestyle-related deficiency, which can lead to reduced regeneration of this barrier. In addition, glutamine can be converted into arginine and ornithine - amino acids that are not essential but are often produced in insufficient amounts by the body (due to stress, high blood pressure, etc.). Especially with age, the need for arginine increases and adequate levels have been associated with a reduced mortality risk.

Taurine is an amino sulfonic acid that is not part of proteins and is therefore absent in protein concentrates, even though it is found throughout the body and performs important functions. It is one of the most abundant amino acids in internal organs and is essential for their function. In the brain, taurine acts like a neurotransmitter - a messenger substance that transmits signals between nerve cells. In doing so, it helps maintain the balance between GABA - a calming neurotransmitter - and glutamate, which has an activating effect. In this way, taurine also indirectly contributes to regulating inflammatory processes in the body.

Breast milk contains high levels of taurine, as it plays an important role in the development of the central nervous system and heart function. Taurine levels decline with age, and studies have associated adequate supplementation with an increase in healthy lifespan. In addition, taurine reduces oxidative stress, which may indirectly support improved immune function.

Plant-based enzyme complex from fermentation - Digezyme®

A second typical issue with protein shakes is that the high amounts of protein are usually not fully processed by the body at this dosage. Proteolytic enzymes help improve protein digestion and absorption, significantly increasing bioavailability. At the same time, there is another effect.

Typically, after consuming a whey product, inflammatory markers in the body may increase, including CRP (C-reactive protein) - a blood marker that indicates the level of inflammation in the body. In the postprandial phase (the period after a meal), such an increase is to be expected; however, with regular consumption it may have a negative impact on overall health balance. Enzymes help counteract this effect. In a study, it was shown that CRP levels even decreased when whey protein was combined with enzymes, and that over a period of several hours.

Specifically combined for improved nutrient utilization

To complement our enzyme spectrum, our Protein Base contains kiwi powder. The enzyme actinidin found in kiwi can break down milk proteins, thereby improving their bioavailability in the body. Through this synergistic effect, kiwi powder supports the efficient utilization of the contained proteins and naturally complements the enzyme spectrum of our protein powder.

For optimal digestion, proteins should always be consumed together with fats and carbohydrates. Therefore, our protein powder contains konjac glucomannan - a soluble dietary fiber and complex long-chain carbohydrate derived from the root of the konjac plant. Glucomannan serves as food for our symbiotic, or “friendly,” gut flora and can thus contribute to a balanced intestinal environment.

Protein powder with lactoferrin and bifidobacteria

The refinement of our protein powder into a complete dietary supplement is achieved through the addition of lactoferrin and bifidobacteria, which individually - and especially together - provide a boost for the immune system. However, this is not only about the direct defense against pathogens, but also about improving the body’s regenerative capacity and repairing oxidative damage, which plays an important role in times of stress, intensive training, and also with age.

Lactoferrin is a natural immune protein that is primarily found in breast milk and is known for its diverse health-related properties. As an iron transporter, it plays a central role in iron utilization in the body, has antimicrobial effects, supports the immune system, and can improve the absorption of iron from food.

Bifidobacterium longum BB536 belongs to the beneficial gut bacteria and, as a probiotic, helps gently stabilize the balance of the gut microbiota and strengthen immune defense.

With the addition of lactoferrin and Bifidobacterium longum BB536, our protein powder is perfectly enhanced, offering a well-rounded and balanced composition for your body and gut.

Natural sweetness for our protein powder

For the subtle sweetness of our Protein Base, we use stevia - with no added sugar. In combination with fiber and healthy fats, this creates a pleasantly balanced taste that is satisfying and can provide a sense of indulgence even when craving something sweet, without causing a sharp rise in blood sugar levels.

We chose stevia because it is one of the most natural calorie-free sweetening options provided by nature and can easily be integrated into a conscious diet. The steviol glycosides extracted from the stevia plant have a high sweetening power without providing any energy. At the same time, studies suggest that stevia - unlike many conventional sweeteners - may even have positive health effects.

Lactoferrin, Bifidobacteria & Protein

More than just a protein powder

High-quality milk and whey proteins

Thanks to our gently filtered proteins and a high-quality fatty acid and amino acid profile, our protein powder supports cell building, recovery, and performance in everyday life and sports.

Lactoferrin to support the immune system

The addition of lactoferrin and bifidobacteria makes our protein powder a premium food supplement that supports the regulation of immune processes and the body's natural defenses.

Enzyme complex for maximum bioavailability

Plant-based digestive enzymes added to our protein powder ensure optimal absorption in the gut and the highest possible bioavailability - without unwanted side effects.

Why our
Protein Powder?

Functional proteins - for more than just muscle building

At the core of our protein powder are our milk and whey proteins with a high phospholipid content, providing essential building blocks for the body. The addition of lactoferrin, bifidobacteria, enzymes, and amino acids makes our protein powder a multifunctional supplement.

Deep Dive

Lactoferrin?

The addition of lactoferrin - a bioactive, iron-binding milk protein - to our protein powder supports the immune system, especially when stress or high levels of physical demand require peak performance.

Proteins as key building blocks

Proteins are essential components for muscles, tissues, skin, hair, and nails. During digestion, they are broken down into amino acids - a process optimally supported by our protein powder with its integrated enzyme complex.

The perfect combination for your everyday life

We have designed the formulation of our Protein Base in a way that allows the body to optimally absorb and utilize it - for effective integration into your daily routine.

Proteins

Functional building blocks for the entire body

The evolutionary combination:

The ratio of milk and whey protein has been ideally adapted to humans based on the model of breast milk, creating a protein supply that adapts to the body instead of overwhelming it.

Enzymes

Little helpers for better protein bioavailability

Why they are beneficial:

During digestion, proteins must be broken down into amino acids - a process that is often limited by insufficient enzyme activity. This is where our integrated enzyme complex comes in.

Amino acids

Essential building blocks of proteins for key bodily functions

Why combine them?

By additionally enriching the formula with the amino acids glycine, taurine, and glutamine, we have specifically optimized the amino acid profile of our protein powder to better meet human needs.

Your Body.
Your Routine.

For anyone who wants to support their health

Increasing the proportion of protein in the diet while reducing the intake of fats and carbohydrates can help increase satiety and support conscious weight management. Protein promotes a longer-lasting feeling of fullness and may help reduce cravings while making daily calorie intake easier to manage. A high-quality protein drink between meals provides a simple way to support overall well-being every day.

For anyone who values high-quality protein intake

Regular physical activity and intense training place significant demands on the body, especially the muscles. That’s why an adequate supply of high-quality protein is essential, as it provides important amino acids that contribute to the building and maintenance of muscle mass and support recovery after training. The plant-based enzyme complex integrated into our protein powder supports the breakdown into amino acids, ensuring optimal supply during physical strain, muscle building, and recovery.

How to prepare our protein powder

Would you like to know more?

Why are proteins so important?

Proteins are the fundamental building blocks of the entire body. They are essential for muscles and tissues, blood components, hormones, and even the brain. Without sufficient protein, many bodily functions cannot operate optimally.

What makes your protein powder so special?

Our protein powder has been specifically developed to stand apart from conventional protein shakes. Instead of focusing solely on a high protein content, we place particular emphasis on a well-designed formulation and optimal usability in the body:

  • Optimal protein blend: The combination of milk and whey protein unites stability and dynamics - creating a protein supply that adapts to the body rather than overwhelming it.
  • Functional ingredients: Phospholipids support the formation of the body’s own cell membranes, the transport of essential nutrients, and enhance physical performance.
  • Improved absorption: Proteolytic enzymes ensure that proteins are efficiently broken down into amino acids.
  • Enhanced amino acid profile: Formulated with glycine, taurine, and glutamine to support an optimal balance of essential amino acids for human needs.
  • Immune system & gut health: Lactoferrin supports immune defenses, while Bifidobacterium longum BB536 helps stabilize the gut microbiota.

In this way, we directly address common shortcomings of conventional protein shakes - such as limited absorption or digestive issues - within the product itself.

What distinguishes you from other protein manufacturers?

The quality of whey is not determined in the lab, but at its source - and in the process. As a manufacturer, we can guarantee the highest quality by controlling every step ourselves. Our milk and whey come from carefully selected, long-term partners who ensure the highest raw material quality. Only with premium ingredients, our gentle production process (cold-filtered) can preserve the protein structures that are essential for optimal absorption and utilization. This keeps the whey in its native form, easy to digest, and gentle on the body, while fully maintaining its natural functionality.

How can you identify a high-quality Protein Powder?

A high-quality protein powder is characterized by a high protein content, good digestibility, and premium raw material quality. As a general guideline, a protein content of around 70-80% is often considered a sign of quality.

At the same time, the sugar content should be kept as low as possible, and the amino acid profile should provide optimal nutritional support. Since the quality of protein powders can vary considerably, transparent ingredient lists and carefully selected, tested ingredients are also important indicators of quality.

Some protein powders contain added sugar or other ingredients that may not align with individual nutritional goals. For this reason, it is worth taking a closer look at the product's composition.

Our Protein Base combines premium milk protein and whey protein with a high protein content and uses natural steviol glycosides from the stevia plant for pleasant sweetness instead of added sugar.

What types of Protein Powder are available?

Protein powders are primarily differentiated by their source and degree of processing. The most common varieties include whey protein, milk protein, and plant-based protein sources.

These protein sources differ in their absorption rate, amino acid profile, and digestibility. Choosing the right option depends on individual goals, dietary preferences, and nutritional needs.

Our Protein Base combines high-quality milk protein and whey protein to provide both rapid and sustained amino acid availability.

Why do you use Milk Protein and Whey Protein?

The bioavailability of proteins can vary depending on the protein source. Animal-based proteins such as milk protein and whey protein are characterized by a complete amino acid profile and particularly high bioavailability.

As a result, the amino acids they contain can be absorbed and utilized efficiently by the body. The combination of milk protein and whey protein provides both a rapid and sustained supply of amino acids, making it a high-quality protein source for everyday life and sports.

Can a Protein Drink support weight loss?

Protein drinks and protein powders can be a useful addition to a conscious, calorie-controlled diet. People who want to lose weight often benefit from increasing their protein intake, as protein can contribute to a longer-lasting feeling of fullness.

As a result, it may become easier to reduce cravings and better manage daily calorie intake. Protein powders are therefore frequently used as part of weight-management strategies because they are filling and, when thoughtfully formulated, often contain only small amounts of sugar and fat.

At the same time, adequate protein intake plays an important role in maintaining muscle mass, especially during a calorie-restricted diet. This applies not only to athletes, but also to people with an active lifestyle.

However, successful weight management always depends on a balanced and varied diet, regular physical activity, and an overall balanced energy intake.

When is the best time to take your protein powder?

For our protein powder, we recommend consuming it in the first half of the day or directly after a workout. At these times, the body can absorb and utilize protein particularly well. Of course, our protein shake can also be enjoyed at other times. Ultimately, overall daily protein intake is what matters most for well-being.

How is your protein shake prepared?

One serving of our protein powder is 30 g (three scoops). We recommend 300 ml of liquid per serving - water, milk, or a plant-based drink, depending on your preference. With milk or a plant-based drink, the protein shake becomes especially creamy.

Preparation works especially well in a shaker: shake vigorously for at least one minute. We deliberately avoid emulsifiers such as lecithin, so thorough shaking ensures an optimal consistency for your protein shake.

Can the protein shake be stored after preparation?

The protein shake should be consumed within 20-30 minutes after preparation, as the enzymes it contains may cause a slightly bitter taste to develop over time. It is still safe to drink afterward, but the taste experience may be affected. For on-the-go use, we therefore recommend carrying the protein powder and liquid separately.

What are milk and whey proteins?

Milk protein refers to the total protein content found in milk. It consists of around 80% casein and about 20% whey protein. Due to its high casein content, it is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of essential amino acids over several hours. This results in long-lasting satiety and consistent support for muscles, connective tissue, and recovery.

When looking at one of the most valuable foods for humans - breast milk - it becomes clear that protein is not just protein. Around 70% of its protein content consists of whey protein. Whey is absorbed quickly by the body, causing amino acid levels in the blood to rise rapidly, which makes it particularly valuable for fast recovery and targeted muscle building.

That’s why our protein powder combines both: based on the composition of human breast milk, with 70% whey protein and 30% casein, to ensure a high-quality, well-rounded protein supply.

Is your protein powder suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, our Protein Base contains milk proteins and is therefore an ideal protein source for ovo-lacto vegetarians who consume dairy products.

How long does one pack of Protein Base last?

One pack contains approximately 16 servings. When taken at the recommended daily intake (30 g = 1 serving), the pack lasts for about 2 weeks.
